John F. Kennedy - a fun example of the human side of our U.S. Presidents
On May 7, 1962, President John F. Kennedy made a bet with Charles “Charlie” Bartlett after dinner at the White House. The wager was whether President Kennedy could lose weight by his birthday.
After making the bet, Kennedy wrote down his target: 185 pounds for himself and 200 pounds for Bartlett. The target date was his birthday, May 29, 1962.
John F. Kennedy and Charlie Bartlett, a well-known journalist and Washington insider, were close friends. Bartlett arranged the dinner party where Kennedy met his future wife, Jacqueline Bouvier.
