Mother Teresa

When Mother Teresa was 36 years old, she felt the call from God to help the poor of India. She received some basic medical training and then set out to help the sick and needy. Mother Teresa was a humanitarian who helped others. Her entire life was fully devoted to helping the poor, the sick, the needy, and the helpless. This is a note in which Mother Teresa relates her experience of helping mothers prepare food for young children at a hospital that was being overrun by a contagious disease.

Mother Teresa writes from Angel Hospital. “As you can see I am helping the mothers to prepare food for the little ones in the reputed place. The sikness [sic] is contagious and the little children are always many to be cured. I am close to the fireplace they do everything on the fire. Love M Teresa.”
